Vaishnavi Shelar

A severe case of intellectual disability, Vaishnavi was a highly dependent resident three years back. Someone had to constantly serve her needs; even basic ones like bathing and feeding. To add to her difficulty, Vaishnavi also struggled to speak. There was always a feeling of remorse in her when she saw her classmates take part in various activities, especially outdoors. 

However, Vaishnavi’s will was like the light at the end of a tunnel. After three years of care, love and medication, change started coming through. Vaishnavi gradually started being less dependent; she even began to articulate unlike ever before. Of all, the highlight of her improvement was the fact that she started loving sports. So much so, that last year she even won the first place in the Three-Legged Race! 

Vaishanvi’s positive physical and intellectual development is indeed very promising. With the right guidance and aid, we see her achieving great success, especially in sports. However, as you know, we lack the means to support Vaishnavi’s future, like that of other #HumansOfAniket, and are open to any kind of aid.
