Harshada Barne

Despite an IQ of 70%, our 17-year-old Harshada does not cease to amaze us with her skills at literally any sport she plays. Harshada was looked after her single mother after losing her father’s roof. Her mother strived to fill their stomachs, working day in and day out to secure the three women - Harshada, Harshada’s sister and herself. Naturally, it started stressing her and thus it was best that someone else took her of Harshada.

In 2014, Harshada came to Kalpana Tai. Demonstrating an adamant attitude, Harshada wants things just her way; If not, it can sometimes cause distress to others around her. Perhaps, that’s the reason why she prefers being the loner that she is. She finds her solace in art and craft and really indulges herself in knowing the nitty and gritty of it. Taking note of this Kalpana Tai and the school's management awarded her with Best Student in Handicrafts award.

Harshada has also been to Punjab to represent the state for Floor Hockey. 13 medals and 1 trophy across various sports are testimonials of Harshada’s versatile skill. We really wish to take her skill forward and help her achieve the life she deserves.
