Akshay Mhaisale

The 21-year-old Akshay has been with us since 2011. Like most of our residents, Akshay too comes from the lower socioeconomic strata of the society. His father works as a plumber and the mother does literally any work to bring home as much as she can to provide this family of five — including two sisters. Akshay is mid-level intellectually disabled and loves to study and play. His family, however, wished that he joined his father in his plumbing work, something Akshay absolutely detested.

Clearly, destiny has other plans for this sports star who has until date won twenty-three medals and three trophies in various sports including table tennis, running, cricket and even craft!
